Why no remote to arm / disarm the alarm ?
Our mission is to produce an alarm which is simple to install and use.
Adding a remote would considerably increase the cost.
Integrating the alarm into the cars electrics would make the installation far more difficult.
Lastly, by not using a remote will make the alarm 100% immune to jamming.
How can the alarm use radar to detect an intrusion ?
The BCA-100 uses a small radar module to detect movement within a car. As it uses a radio signal, the alarm can be hidden behind plastic covers in the car.
How does the bonnet switch help me ?
Should the bonnet be forced open to steal the battery or engine parts, the alarm will trigger instantly. The switch is an optional extra yet vey easy to install. It requires a single wire from the
switch to terminal 5 on the alarm.
If the bonnet switch isn't used, terminal 5 can be left unconnected.
During the exit delay period, the alarm checks the status of the bonnet switch. if it detects the bonnet is open, the alarm chirps continually as a warning.
What is the canopy sensor ?
We manufacture a PIR sensor to protect the contents of a bakkies canopy. The sensor detects a sudden change in temperature as the canopy door is opened. If the canopy door is opened whilst the alarm is armed, the alarm will be triggered immediately.
